Street pictures of the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Berlin Wall. There was a big celebration in Germany's capitol. A "domino gallery" marked part of the course of the former Berlin Wall (between Reichstagsufer and Potsdamer Platz). School classes painted the "wall bricks" individually with what they thought appropriate for this special day. A "domino gallery" marked part of the course of the former Berlin Wall (between Reichstagsufer and Potsdamer Platz). School classes painted the "wall bricks" individually with what they thought appropriate for this special day. At night, in a ceremony, the domino bricks were pushed to tear down the wall symbolically by Lech Walesa and Miklos Nemeth. The nights' motto was: Walls still have to be teared down these days, either physical ones or walls in peoples' minds.

Straßenbilder von den Feierlichkeiten zum 20. Jubiläum des Falls der Mauer in Berlin. Eine "Domino Galerie" markierte einen Teil des ehemaligen Mauerstreifens zwischen dem Reichstagsufer und dem Potsdamer Platz. Schulklassen haben die "Mauersteine" mit eigenen Motiven zu den Themen Deutschland, DDR und Wiedervereinigung verziert. Die Zeremonien am Abend wurden feierlich beendet mit dem symbolischen Mauerfall, eingeleitet durch das Umstoßen des ersten Dominosteins durch Lech Walesa und Miklos Nemeth. Das Motto der Nacht lautete: Auch in der heutigen Zeit müssen noch - physische oder psychische - Mauern umgestoßen werden.
